Our Big May Update: Store Reopenings, New Hours, New Health Precautions, New Floor Layout & More!

The last couple months have been incredibly tough for so many in our local community. It’s tempting to declare “we’re all in the same boat together”, but that is an oversimplification. The truth is that the spread of coronavirus and the resulting shelter-at-home order has impacted each of us differently. Some struggle in lonely isolation, while others pray for a moment of peace and quiet. Some are unemployed or losing income by no fault of their own, while others deemed essential are struggling with overwork, exhaustion, and increased risk of exposure. We aren’t in the same boat, but we are indeed weathering the same storm.

Regardless of how this chaos has affected your family, we figure that literally everyone could use some encouragement right now. That’s why we can’t wait to finally share our own good news with you!

Welcome Back to Woodstock Furniture & Mattress Outlet!

May is back, and so is Woodstock Furniture & Mattress Outlet! Our six North Georgia locations are now officially open for business! In case you haven’t heard, we recently reopened our Dallas/Hiram and Rome showrooms on April 24th, along with our Canton, Kennesaw and Douglasville mattress stores. As of this past Friday, May 1st, our flagship Woodstock/Acworth furniture store is open as well. But that’s hardly the only positive announcement we’ve got to make. Read on to learn about our new services, new health precautions, updated store hours and more!

So What’s New?

Even with our stores closed amidst the pandemic, we were hard at work thinking of ways to serve our customers. How can we offer top-notch customer service and sell furniture without a showroom? Well, we ramped up our online resources to offer more assistance online and over the phone than ever before! As a result, we were fortunately able to help many of y’all transform your homes with all that quarantine down-time. Thanks to y’all, we were able to stay busy while still doing our part to “flatten the curve” and prevent the spread of novel coronavirus. But that fight isn’t over. That’s why we’re making changes to keep our customers and associates as safe and comfortable as possible.

Online Store, Web Chat & Curbside Delivery

online shopping and curbside delivery

We understand that many things have changed since this pandemic began, and that getting back to “normal” will be a long process. We also understand that many of you aren’t quite comfortable with returning “business as usual” – and that’s okay too! That’s why we’ve enacted new policies to better serve you and address these concerns going forward.

If you’ve chosen to hunker down at home for a bit longer, don’t forget that our online store is always open and we’ve got live web chat assistance available. We are also offering optional curbside delivery for all orders. That means we don’t even have to come inside your home to deliver your new furniture!

Updated Hours & Shopping by Appointment

wednesday appointments

Additionally, we’ve changed up our hours at each of our stores. We are open from 9am to 6pm Monday and Tuesday, as well as Thursday through Saturday. This change is important because it has allowed our biggest Woodstock/Acworth store to be open by appointment only on Wednesdays! If you are wary about sharing space with too many others, book an appointment by phone or web chat and come shop our 100,000+ square foot showroom. Think of it as your own personal VIP shopping experience! Remember, our Woodstock/Acworth furniture store has our largest selection of furniture, mattresses, area rugs and more. As always, we are closed on Sunday.

New Showroom Layout, Cleaning Policies & Preventive Measures

As part of our ongoing goal to better serve our customers, we took some extra steps to prepare our Woodstock/Acworth showroom for our reopening. If you’ve been to our Woodstock/Acworth furniture store, you know that space can be a bit tight with all that furniture. Well, we further expanded the backroom area that used to be warehouse space. By doing this, we are now able to display more furniture. But far more importantly, changing the layout has allowed us to make wider aisles to allow for proper social distancing.

Lastly, we are now checking the temperature of every employee before each shift, as well as frequently sanitizing commonly touched surfaces such as door handles, keypads, faucets, etc. Additionally, our associates are now wearing masks, practicing frequent hand-washing, and social distancing by 6ft or more. Going forward, we will also be monitoring and restricting the number of customers in our showrooms at any given time, in accordance with recommended guidelines.

Hope To See Y’all Soon!

We are so very thankful to be able to get back to work and to continue providing our local Georgia communities with better quality furniture at lower prices! Stay tuned to the WFMO blog for more updates as we continue to get back in the swing of things. In the meantime, check out what our own Brian Aaron had to say on our Facebook page this past week…
