With just a little bit of guidance, you’ll feel confident that you’ve chosen exactly the right custom Italian leather seating for you.
Softline Furniture | Customization Options
Softline Furniture is known within the furniture industry for their commitment to old-fashioned craftsmanship and authentic, natural Italian leathers. That’s why every Softline piece is benchcrafted just outside of Bari, Italy by skilled upholsterers using leather tanned in Softline’s own tannery in Arzignano – a region world-renowned for producing high-quality leather goods for at least the last seven centuries.
Here at Woodstock Furniture & Mattress Outlet, we recently began offering custom leather upholstery options from Softline Furniture. But what features can you actually customize with Softline? Here’s everything you need to know.
Softline specializes in leather upholstered seating – particularly sofas, sectionals, loveseats, armchairs, accent chairs, chaises and ottomans. Their aesthetic leans European and modern, with clean lines, deep seats, and an emphasis on comfort. If you’re designing a sectional, you’ll be able to choose from several layout options – right-arm-facing or left-arm-facing chaise ends, L-shape, U-shape, and more – depending on your space and desired seating capacity. With custom leather seating from Softline, we currently offer the ability to choose between any of the above furniture types from 8 different collections, each with their own unique style and flair.
Most Softline furniture comes with 1.8 density foam seat cushions, which is the industry standard for comfort and support. However, for those looking for a slightly firmer or more durable seat cushion, some collections in Softline’s catalog also offer upgrades to 2.0 high-resiliency foam cushions.
Finally, what about the leathers themselves? This is where Softline really shines. Choose from over 60 different authentic Italian top-grain leathers, including aniline and semi-aniline leather options that preserve the natural character of the hide, and a wide range of colors that stretch from natural browns and tans, to grays, blues and even greens.
While Softline doesn’t offer a ton of extra decorative customization, like nailhead trim, patterned fabrics, specific arm or leg styles, etc. these types of decisions are made when you choose the furniture type, collection, and style that is the best fit for you. Softline takes a “less is more” approach, where it’s all about top-tier materials, quality construction and providing customers with a set of carefully curated collections to choose from.
Softline Furniture | Custom Order Process
Ordering a custom Italian leather sofa from Softline doesn't have to be complicated. Here’s what the process looks like with a little help from our team:
1) Choose Your Collection & Furniture Type – First, choose the collection you love the most and choose the type of leather upholstered seating that’s right for your space. Whether it’s a leather sectional for entertaining guests, a loveseat for a cozy space, an armchair for your reading nook, or all of the above.
2) Customize Your Configuration (Sectionals Only) – If you're ordering a sectional, now is the time to plan your layout. We'll help you determine the ideal shape, orientation, and size for your room. This part might seem a little tricky, but don't worry – our team is here to walk you through it.
3) Pick Your Cushion Type – Depending on the collection you have chosen, you may have a choice between standard 1.8 density foam cushions and a firmer, high-resiliency 2.0 density foam option. If you’re unsure which to choose, we’ll help you test them out in-store and explain the difference.
4) Select Your Leather – Lastly, it’s time to pick from Softline’s selection of 60+ luxurious Italian leathers! Please note that each collection has certain leathers that are curated for it, and not every leather is available for every collection. Got questions? Our team can help you find the shade that works best for your home.
5) Finalize Your Order – Your last step here at Woodstock Furniture & Mattress Outlet is to finalize your order. Once your choices are made, our team will help you review and finalize your custom order. All that’s left to do is to sign your custom order confirming your selections above and to put down the deposit required for custom orders. Once your custom upholstery comes in, we’ll contact you to schedule delivery or pickup, and to pay the remaining balance.
