But First, What Is Sealy Posturepedic Plus?

Many mattress shoppers have heard of Sealy. Likewise, many shoppers have also heard of Sealy’s hallmark – the Posturepedic technology featured in many Sealy mattresses. However, the term Posturepedic doesn’t just refer to Sealy’s unique coil support system anymore. It now also refers to the different mattress lines that Sealy offers.

Over their last few product launches, Sealy began dividing their mattresses by the level of quality and the features they offer. There are now essentially 3 tiers of Sealy mattresses. The first mattress line is called Sealy Essentials. This is Sealy’s entry level mattress lineup, defined as “quality at an affordable price.” The second is their mid-tier line, simply called Sealy Posturepedic, which Sealy describes as being “inspired by our work with orthopedic specialists.”

Finally, we come to Sealy’s top-end mattress collection, aptly named Posturepedic Plus. Just know that with Sealy Posturepedic Plus, you’ll be getting the best mattresses that Sealy has to offer. This premium line includes the Sealy Albany, Sealy Brenham, and Sealy High Point mattresses. Each mattress in the Sealy Posturepedic Plus lineup is available as either a gel memory foam or hybrid mattress, although for today’s review, we’ll be focusing on the Sealy Posturepedic Plus hybrid mattress models.

Sealy Posturepedic Plus Hybrid Mattress Review: What’s New for 2022?

what's new 2022

Before we get into each specific Sealy Posturepedic Plus hybrid mattress, let’s review some improvements Sealy has made over their previous models. Considering that past Sealy Hybrid Premium and Sealy Chill mattresses have been top-rated by organizations like Consumer Reports, it’s important to note that these new Sealy hybrids are even better!

Beginning with the new High Point, Brenham and Albany mattresses, all Sealy Posturepedic Plus hybrid mattresses are now hospitality grade. This means that these new mattresses are even more durable with an even longer comfort life. In other words, they more than exceed the tough requirements that top hotels demand from their mattresses.

Additionally, these Sealy hybrid mattresses still have the same 10-year warranty as past models. However, these mattresses are crafted to an even higher standard. Within the mattress industry, a 1½-inch deep impression (i.e., a sag or dip in the mattress) is usually required for manufacturers to consider mattresses to be defective and eligible for warranty claims. Not so with Sealy Posturepedic Plus!

Sealy is so confident in the high quality of their new hybrids that they consider a dip of as little as ¾-inch to be a defect. Honestly, how many companies would willingly make it easier for customers to make a warranty claim? Only one that’s supremely confident in the build quality of their mattresses.

Sealy Posturepedic Plus Albany Hybrid Mattress

The Sealy Albany hybrid mattress is the foundation upon which the rest of the Sealy Posturepedic Plus is built. Starting with the cover, the Albany – and every mattress that follows – include Sealy’s Surface-Guard and SealyChill technology woven right into the fabric. This gives the mattress cover antibacterial, cooling and moisture-wicking properties.

Additionally, the Albany and all the other mattresses to come also include Sealy’s DuraFlex Pro Edge for breathability and improved edge support, Response Pro HD encased coils for support and motion isolation, and ComfortSense premium gel memory foam. The Albany is available in medium feel.

  • 13” Profile
  • Available in Medium Feel
  • Surface-Guard Technology
  • DuraFlex Pro Edge
  • SealyChill Cooling Cover
  • 1072 Response Pro HD Pocketed Coils
  • 1½ Inches of ComfortSense Premium Memory Foam

With all these features, the Albany really is a good all-around mattress option. As a hybrid, it naturally has better support/responsiveness than pure memory foam mattresses, and at a medium firmness, it can accommodate all sleep positions. Naturally, the Albany is the best of the three for those watching their budget.

Sealy Posturepedic Plus Brenham Hybrid Mattress

Second, we have the Sealy Brenham hybrid mattress. It picks up where the Albany leaves off and adds a couple key improvements. The Brenham is more supportive, more responsive, and has less motion transfer thanks to 18 additional, Response Pro Zoned HD pocketed coils. The other major difference is that the Brenham nearly doubles the amount of ComfortSense premium gel memory foam found in the Albany.

  • 13.5” Profile
  • Available in both Firm and Soft Feel
  • Surface-Guard Technology
  • DuraFlex Pro Edge
  • SealyChill Cooling Cover
  • 1090 Response Pro Zoned HD Pocketed Coils
  • 2½ to 3 Inches of ComfortSense Premium Memory Foam

Consider the Brenham to be the Albany with a couple enhancements. For the extra money you can expect a little better support, better motion isolation, and a softer comfort layer, almost like a pillowtop. Since the Sealy Brenham is available in both firm and soft feel, it can easily accommodate all sleep positions – particularly, soft for side sleepers and firm for back or stomach sleepers. If these things are important, the Brenham might be the right one for you.

Sealy Posturepedic Plus High Point Hybrid Mattress

Finally, we have the pinnacle of the Sealy Posturepedic Plus hybrids – the Sealy High Point hybrid mattress. Consider the Sealy High Point mattress to be the Brenham hybrid with yet a couple final improvements. Not only does the High Point hybrid mattress have even more ComfortSense premium gel memory foam, this extra thick layer incorporates even more SealyChill material.

Like the Brenham mattress above, the High Point is available as both a firm and a soft. Imagine the Sealy Brenham mattress with an even cooler, even thicker comfort layer – that’s the Sealy High Point mattress.

  • 14” Profile
  • Available in both Firm and Soft Feel
  • Surface-Guard Technology
  • DuraFlex Pro Edge
  • SealyChill Cooling Cover
  • 1090 Response Pro Zoned HD Pocketed Coils
  • 3½ Inches of ComfortSense Premium Memory Foam w/ SealyChill

As the thickest and most expensive of these mattresses, the High Point mattress has all the bells and whistles. If you are a dedicated back/stomach sleeper and prefer a firmer mattress, the High Point mattress in firm is the one for you. However, if you are a strict side-sleeper, you’ll probably love the High Point hybrid soft mattress. It also sleeps the coolest of all the Sealy hybrid mattresses, perfect for hot sleepers!
