Choose from 5 different sofa/chair arms, 2 different suspension systems, 4 different foot and base options, 4 different back cushions, 17 natural wood grain and hand-rubbed finishes, and 24 possible variations of seat cushions. And that’s before you even consider the 600+ fabrics, performance fabrics, and leathers they’ve got available for the body and pillows of your new upholstered seating. Kincaid Furniture | Custom Order Process
Here’s the process you can expect when ordering custom upholstery from Kincaid Furniture:
1) Choose Your Furniture Type – Whether you’re looking for a chair, a chair-and-a-half, ottoman, loveseat, a small sofa, a large sofa, sofa chaise, sleeper sofa or a sectional large enough to seat all your guests, Kincaid has a huge number of furniture types and sizes to choose from.
2) Choose Your Arm Style – As we touched on above, Kincaid gives you free reign to customize your upholstered seating however you like, including choosing from multiple types of arms. This is unlike many other custom upholstery brands, who limit you to preset frames or styles. Choose from panel arm, sock arm, track arm, key arm or English arm.
3) Choose Your Base / Feet – Much like with the arms, Kincaid equips shoppers to customize every detail of your new upholstery base. Go for a more traditional look with a skirt base or bun feet, or more contemporary feel with an upholstered base or wedge feet.
4) Choose Your Suspension System – Just like your car or truck has a suspension system that attaches to the frame to absorb motion and provide cushioned support, so does your sofa. This is what sits underneath the seat to support the cushions (and you!) Pick between industry-standard sinuous spring suspension, or tried-and-true 8-way-hand-tied suspension.
5) Choose Your Back Cushion – With Kincaid, you’re also able to customize both your back and seat cushions. For your back cushion options, choose from knife edge cushions or box edge cushions, attached back, semi-attached back, or loose back, with or without welted seams.
6) Choose Your Seat Cushion – Kincaid boasts possibly the most seat cushion options in the industry. Not only can you choose between flat front cushions and T-front cushions, you can also choose between cushions with a standard seat depth and a larger cushion option with a much deeper seat. Lastly, you can choose between 6 different comfort options, each with their own unique feel – comfort support, extra firm, plush comfort, premium blend down, premium spring down, and luxury spring down.
7) Choose Your Upholstery Fabrics & Finishes – You’re almost there! Time for the finishing touches. Choose from over 600 fabrics and leathers for the upholstered body of your furniture, pillows, and welts, including over 70 durable performance fabrics from Kingard, Sunbrella and InsideOut. Once you’ve chosen your upholstery coverings, don’t forget the finishes for any exposed wood parts or nailhead trim accents. Kincaid Furniture offers 17 wood finishes ranging from natural wood grain to painted, along with 5 different nailhead finishes for those who have chosen a model featuring nailhead trim.
