Two Infinity Massage Chair Features You Must Know

First, before we dive into specific massage chair models from Infinity, it’s necessary to learn about the technology inside them. It is especially important to understand the different massage roller mechanisms and roller tracks. Knowing about these features and how they work will help you understand the differences between the Infinity massage chairs below.

1) 2D Massage vs 3D Massage vs 4D Massage

When you hear someone mention 2D or 3D, what typically comes to mind? If you said, 3D glasses at the movie theater, you’re already on the right track! These abbreviations stand for “2-dimensional” or “3-dimensional”. An example of this in our own industry would be the dimensions or measurements of a piece of furniture. The height of the piece would be one dimension, the length would be a second, and the depth would be a third.

When we use the terms 2D, 3D or 4D regarding massage chairs, we’re specifically talking about the massage roller mechanism. These massage rollers are the “hands” of your new Infinity “masseuse”. When it comes to these different massage roller systems, each one truly represents a step up from the previous one.

Keeping that in mind, a 2D massage mechanism moves along an X-axis and Y-axis (i.e., left/right and up/down). A 3D massage adds yet another dimension – the Z-axis. This means that a 3D massage system can move diagonally in addition to up/down and left/right. This mechanism gives the massage rollers even better coverage across your neck, back and torso. It also mimics the feel of human hands and deep tissue massage much better.

Finally, Infinity offers something called a 4D massage system. While the 4D mechanism doesn’t literally add another physical dimension to your massage experience, it is the natural evolution of the 3D massage. With 4D massage, the rollers move at variable speed, depth and pressure, giving users the closest experience to human hands as possible. It also gives the user more manual control over their massage experience.

2) S-Track vs L-Track

The second critically important factor to understand here is the two different kinds of roller tracks. What is an S-Track system? What is an L-Track system? And what’s the difference?

What Is S-Track?

According to Infinity, the “S’ in S-Track stands for “sinusoidal” which means “wave”. But don’t worry, that won’t be on the quiz. Here at Woodstock Furniture & Mattress Outlet, we like to say is that the “S” stands for “spine”. That’s because the S-Track roller system runs along the curvature of your spine from the neck all the way to your lower back.

What Is L-Track?

The L-Track also begins at the neck and runs along the curvature of the spine. However, this roller track also curves beneath the seat (just like the shape of a capital L) and runs along the tailbone to the glutes and top of the hamstrings.

Pros & Cons

Because there is no significant turn angle in the track, an S-Track allows the user to lie flatter, which offers a better back stretch. However, the trade-off here is that the L-Track covers several additional muscle groups. For those wanting a full-length body massage, the L-Track is definitely the way to go.

Infinity Genesis Massage Chair vs Infinity Aura Massage Chair vs Infinity Prelude Massage Chair vs Infinity Smart Chair X3

Our lineup of Infinity massage chairs is tailored around different combinations of these two key features — massage roller mechanisms and roller tracks. In addition, every massage chair below also includes the following:

  • Smart Body Scan to detect your body’s size and shape and customize your massage
  • Remote Control with at least 6 massage programs and full manual control
  • Zero Gravity Recline for improved circulation, spinal decompression and a sense of weightlessness
  • Heated Lumbar Massage Function to relax and loosen muscles
  • Airbag Compression Massage for calves, forearms, shoulders, etc.
  • Reflexology Massage Nodes for soles and foot massage
  • Infinity Care Limited Warranty

However, let’s not overlook the unique combination of features that each of these amazing massage chairs have to offer. The massage chairs below are listed in order of price point.

Infinity Prelude Massage Chair

The Infinity Prelude Massage Chair is the most affordable and most basic massage chair on our list. However, given the set of premium features that come standard, the Prelude is anything but basic.

Available in black and brown, the Prelude features 2D massage with a 30″ S-Track massage mechanism. The 4-node massage roller delivers shiatsu, kneading, tapping and knocking massage techniques for the entire length of your neck and back.

Infinity Aura Massage Chair

Where the Prelude is a combination of 2D massage and an S-Track roller, the Infinity Aura Massage Chair offers users 2D massage with the added benefit of an L-Track system. The same 4-node massage roller runs on a longer 36″ track that can now reach your glutes and hamstrings. The Aura is also a bit sturdier with a max weight of 300lbs (as opposed to the Prelude’s maximum of 264lbs).

As an added bonus, the Aura massage chair includes on-board Bluetooth speakers so that you can play your own relaxing music to help you unwind. Aura is available in black, black/brown and cream/brown.

Infinity Smart Chair X3 Massage Chair

The Infinity Smart Chair X3 represents an evolution in technology as it’s our first massage chair here with 3D/4D massage function. While the S-Track won’t reach your glutes or tailbone, the 3D/4D massage mechanism offers users a more natural feeling massage capable of a much deeper pressure. It’s also capable of a near flat reclining position and inversion, both of which aid with spinal decompression.

On top of the functions above, the Smart Chair X3 also includes 9 massage programs (by contrast, Prelude and Aura only have 6 auto programs) and more manual controls to get the exact massage you want. Don’t forget, it also has on-board Bluetooth as well as Android and iOS app functionality. Available in black and chocolate brown.

Infinity Genesis Max Massage Chair

Lastly, and absolutely not least, is the Infinity Genesis Max Massage Chair. Do you want to feel like you’re in a rocket about to blast off into the zero gravity bliss and relaxation of space? If so, the Genesis Max might be the one for you.

A true 4D massage mechanism gives the Genesis Max a near-human touch with better massage coverage, variable speeds/pressure, 12 auto massage programs, and more manual control than any of our other massage chairs. It also features an incredibly long, 49″ L-Track for unprecedented massage range from neck to thigh.

Lastly, there are tons of extra bonus features that are just the cherry on top. From relaxing sound therapy, to Bluetooth connectivity, iOS and Android functionality, calf-kneading massage, to spinal correction and decompression, the Genesis Max massage chair isn’t a product — it’s an experience!
