Dallas might feel like a quiet, tucked-away corner of North Georgia, but when it comes to food, this town brings the flavor. From long-established family restaurants, to local barbecue joints, to a variety of different cuisines, there’s something comforting about the dining scene here.

Whether you’re heading out for a big Southern breakfast, a burger piled high, or something a bit more adventurous, Dallas has more than a few local favorites worth checking out. These are the places our team loves to grab lunch between shifts or bring their families on the weekend. Keep reading to see which local spots made the alphabetized list below!

Barn Belly Burgers

Creative, satisfying, and seriously fun — Barn Belly Burgers is a must-visit if you're craving a bold burger with a slightly Carribean personality. Locals rave about unique burger options like the Bulldozer, Angry Tony or Rowdy Jamaican burgers along with fried pork belly tacos, jumbo wings, Jamaican jerk bowls, and comforting sides like cheesy mac. Barn Belly Burgers is a place where flavor is top priority, and they don’t skimp on the portions either.

Beyond the food, it’s the laid-back atmosphere is perfect for fueling up after a long shopping trip or for grabbing a relaxed bite with family. Barn Belly feels like a great neighborhood hangout with top-notch burgers.

Caribee Jerk

With a menu full of tropical spices and soulful Jamaican flavor, Caribee Jerk brings the heat in the best way. Their signature jerk chicken — smoky, juicy, and full of fire — is the kind of meal that sticks with you (in a good way, of course). Round it out with sweet plantains, cabbage and rice, and you’ll wonder why Caribbean food isn’t a regular part of your week.

Menu items lik jerk pasta, oxtail, curry goat and multiple vegan and vegetarian options make Caribee Jerk arguably one of the most authentic Jamaican spots in Metro Atlanta. Whether you’re grabbing takeout or dining in, apart from the food, what really makes this hole-in-the-wall joint special is the casual, cheerful vibe.

Downtown Eats

Downtown Eats in Dallas may fly under the radar, but those who know it, love it. Known for its clean, modern take on lunch and light dinner favorites, this local restaurant and bar offers seasonal salads,  pressed sandwiches, tasty tacos, fish and chips, chicken and waffles, and rotating specials that go beyond your average café fare.

It’s the perfect choice for a midday break or post-showroom lunch stop, especially if you're looking for fresh ingredients and good service in a casual environment. Bright, efficient, and satisfying — what more do you need?

Gold Mine Tacos

This low-key Dallas, GA taco stop keeps it real with street-style tacos that pack a serious punch. You won’t find anything too fancy here — just authentic juicy meats, warm tortillas, and salsas that make every bite better than the last. And frankly, that's enough to make it one of the best rated Mexican restaurants in Dallas.

A favorite for quick lunches and casual dinners, Gold Mine Tacos delivers consistency, affordability, and big flavor. If you’re in a taco mood (and honestly, when are you not?), this local gem is worth checking out.

Quality Chef Chinese Restaurant

Sometimes all you want is solid take-out Chinese food done right. Quality Chef Chinese Restaurant delivers just that — sweet and savory flavorful classics like sesame chicken, lo mein, and egg rolls that hit the spot every time.

Like a few others on today's list, the location and atmosphere aren't anything to write home about, but the food is great, the portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the food comes out fast. This is the kind of place where locals have their “usual,” and for good reason. It’s simple, satisfying, and always there when you need a comfort food fix.

Rodney’s BBQ

If the smoky aroma wafting from Rodney’s BBQ doesn’t get you through the door, the first bite of pulled pork definitely will. This is real-deal small-town Georgia barbecue, served up with no frills but loads of smokey flavor. Pulled pork, pulled chicken, beef brisket, ribs, baked beans, fried taters, collards, and coleslaw are just the tip of the iceberg. Don't sleep on their Southern breakfasts either! Frankly, Rodney's menu is everything you’d hope for from a local BBQ joint.

Dining at Rodney’s feels more like pulling up to a backyard cookout than a restaurant, and that’s a big part of why Rodney's was near the top of our Dallas/Hiram store employee survey. It’s honest, flavorful food served by folks who clearly know what they’re doing.

Rosa Negra Tapas & Tequila

Looking for something festive and just a little bit upscale? Rosa Negra Tapas & Tequila delivers with a style that is equal parts Latin American taqueria and European tapas bar. Their delicious menu of small plates, specialty drinks, and tequila cocktails brings a burst of creative flavors to every table, whether you’re trying the skirt steak, sizzling coconut shrimp, pork belly ceviche, tostones, signature margaritas, or anything in between.

The colorful decor and upbeat vibe make it a great choice for date nights, group dinners or drinks out on the town. Rosa Negra isn't just a meal — it’s an experience, and one that locals return to often. Open lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, with an added brunch menu on the weekends.

Sal’s Pizza

For old-school Italian comfort food and New York style pizza, Sal’s Pizza is a crowd favorite here in Dallas. Their hand-tossed pizzas are cheesy, crispy, and flavorful, and they’ve also got a full menu of pasta, calzones, strombolis, hearty sandwiches, garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, zucchini sticks, and much more. This laid-back family-style restaurant fits the bill whether you're dining in or carrying out.

From buttery biscuits and catfish, to country fried steak, hamburger steak and ribeyes, Sugar Biscuits is the kind of unassuming local spot that your Southern grandma would love to death.

Totopos Mexican Restaurant

Casual and colorful, Totopos offers a little something for everyone.
